ECC2014 aim to show an overview of the best European contemporary ceramics in two large scale exhibitions. 

2 extensive exhibitions will in each exhibition category show the work of 2 ceramic artists from 30 European countries. The work of all together 120 artists will be presented in the exhibitions. The exhibition categories are European Ceramic Art for work made by professional, established artists within the field of ceramic art. This exhibition will be shown at Bornholm Art Museum.  The curatorial concept for the ECC exhibitions aims to show an overview of contemporary ceramics from professional ceramicists and ceramic artists in Europe, in all its diversity.

New talent, this category is for professional emerging ceramic artists under the age of 35 years. This exhibition will be shown at Grønbechs Gård.

Artists can participate in the exhibitions by nominations only. A national commissioner has been appointed by the organizers in each participating country. The national commissioners will nominate artists for participation. A sellection committee will make the final sellection. 

 2 prizes. A prize of 10.000 € will be given to one outstanding ceramic artist in each of the two exhibition categories. A jury of 3 members with expertise in the field of contemporary ceramics will go through the exhibitions before the opening and select 1 winner in each of the 2 exhibition categories. 

The Jury members are: Namita Gupta Wiggers who is a curator, writer, educator, and museum consultant based in Portland, OR (US)Ceramic Artist, educator and curator Clemence van Lunen (BE) and Museum Director at Bornholm Art Museum Lars Kærulf Møller (DK).

An exhibition catalogue will be produced representing all exhibiting artists with images of their work, a short CV and a critical note written by the national commissioners. An online version of the exhibition catalogue will also be produced through this website.
