Three ceramists traces in clay from Bornholm

An exhibition with work from Iwami Shinsuke, Ann Charlotte Ohlsson and Anne Mette Hjortshøj

Anne Mette Hjortshøj met Iwami Shinsuke from Mashiko, Japan in South Korea in 2011. Both potters were invited to participate and exhibit at the annual Teabowl Festival.

They found shared interest in pottery history, folkart and not least, the interest in finding and using local materials in their work.

Ann Charlotte Ohlsson and Anne Mette Hjortshøj are two ceramists who share firings in a two chamber woodburning kiln on Bornholm.

Iwami Shinsuke has a similar kiln in Japan.

The three potters will show results from an ongoing exhange of knowledge and skill through shared interests in both an exhibition and a day of demonstrations of techniques and talks.
