Alternative exhibition spaces
We are two ceramic artists who in our project “Street Ceramics” use the streets in Copenhagen as exhibition space (www.urbaneceramics.blogspot.com). We are working in an experimental way with ceramics that moves out from the gallery and relates to space and surroundings in the city. This project has lead to an interest and an urge to find out more about alternative exhibition spaces.

We would like to start a forum where everybody can share thoughts, ideas and discoveries/examples, thoughts and ideas in this field. As this blog will develop (in interesting directions) we will find new angles and questions to the theme “alternative exhibition spaces”. We hope you will share your thoughts and ideas!
Many of the Danish ceramic galleries are closed which leads to ceramisists trying to find new ways of professional exposure. Because of this the ceramisists have to find other canals to exhibit their work.
Is this happening just because of the lack of galleries? Are there today an urge to defy traditional ways of exhibiting?
Where are ceramics exposed in 2010 and where will it be presented in the future?
